Car club will be a success in Glasgow

Paul Tetlaw, chair of Transform Scotland, said:

"We are delighted to see the launch of the City Car Club in Glasgow. It has been a great success in Edinburgh and we see no reason why that should not be repeated in Glasgow.

"Car club membership allows the driver to choose when it is necessary to drive and when another means of transport would be more appropriate. It has a proven track record in greatly reducing car mileage and this contributes to reducing climate change emissions, reducing our dependency on oil and getting members that bit fitter as they choose to walk or cycle on some journeys."
